LOOKING FOR A PROGRAM TO GET YOUR PRESCHOOLER UP AND MOVING THIS SPRING? Join the Sandwich Recreation Department’s all newHIGH FIVE PRESCHOOL SKILLS A  6-week program that will use music and games to promote  FIVE great preschool skills for your preschooler!   BALANCING/ BODY AWARENESS JUMPING/HOPPING THROWING/CATCHING SHARING/TAKING TURNS INDEPENDENCE/SELF-RELIANCE Each week will include activities that will promote physical activity, help develop social skills while building confidence and independence. WHEN:  Tuesday Mornings             April 27th  – June 1st            9:30 – 10:15WHERE:  Sandwich Recreation Department                 Meetinghouse Road                      WHO:  Children 3 – 5 years old FEE: $50 Healthy social and emotional DEVELOPMENT depends on the experiences that your child has during their first FIVE years. Gross motor play and movement is a great way to help your preschoolers build the skills they’ll need later in life and as they prepare for school. This program is designed to expose your preschooler to a variety of activities through music and games that will promote physical activity, help develop social skills while building confidence and independence.  The program will be taught by Sarah Daley, former teacher at The Cape Cod Children’s Museum.   Each week Sarah will build off the previous class and parents will receive a newsletter complete with fun games and activities to try at home to build on the skills that your child will need to thrive!

Suitable for students with some yoga experience who like to break a sweat; ages 16 and older Bring your own mat and blocks if possible.  Masks are required.*** No Drop In's allowed.  You must preregister****  In this class, yoga postures are consciously linked together with breath to create a graceful yet dynamic flow.  Students will be encouraged to visit some poses for several breaths, allowing adequate time to make adjustments that help deepen their practice and align the physical body. You will strengthen and build flexibility, all while finding a sense of deep inner calm. Gillian Hurrie has been a Sandwich resident for 19 years and welcomes you to the mat. She has taught for 12 years and practiced yoga as a lifestyle for 30 years.  She holds a 200 hour certification through National Yoga Alliance.  In addition, she has taken extensive trainings and also holds a certificate from Bodhi and Mind Yoga’s cancer-informed teacher training, which provides free yoga to women in any stage of breast cancer treatment and recovery. Gillian is know for her calming presence, non-judgmental teaching style and compassion-centered philosophy. Gillian weaves thought-provoking ideas and meditations throughout her classes, applying ancient wisdom to our contemporary western world in a useful and understandable way. She loves yoga philosophy, alignment and anatomy, and watching students learn to listen to their bodies while practicing yoga.
