The Sandwich Recreation Department is excited to invite you to a special open gym designed just for you and your little ones. This is a fantastic opportunity to let the children enjoy a safe, fun, and energetic environment while you connect with other dedicated day care professionals. Whether you're looking to share experiences, get new ideas, or simply have a great time, this is perfect for fostering community and support. Open gym is unstructured activity time where the gymnasium is available to students, families, and/or community members to play pick-up basketball or participate in an organized activity. Every Kid Dance - Every Kid Dance- Winter 2026 The Sandwich Recreation Department along with the Sandwich Partnership for Families is so excited to once again offer this exciting program thanks to funding from the Kiwanis Club of Sandwich! EveryKid Dance is an adaptive dance and music program for preschoolers. Combining many styles of movement and dance. EveryKid Dance is designed so that children of all abilities from ages 2-5 can experience the joy and develop a love of dance, music and the arts as well as achieve personal, social and physical growth in a compassionate and supportive environment. “The mission of Adaptive Dance is to provide high quality, joyful, and engaging movement instruction for individuals with disabilities in order to foster a love of dance and creative expression and to promote physical and personal development...The guiding concepts for Adaptive Dance is: Discover, Explore and Create!”Parents/Guardians must accompany their child during the class. Come assemble up to five different vehicles, three different dinosaurs, and two windmills as you work on and take home your very own X in1 Robot kit! You will construct ten animated building options with child-friendly parts that function indoors with the use of a Hand Generator, outdoors with the use of the XL Solar Panel, and indoors and outdoors with the Wind Powered LED. With a variety of age-appropriate equipment and activities, children will have the opportunity to develop their motor skills, socialize with peers, and simply have a blast. Survivor: Sandwich is an exciting enrichment program inspired by the popular TV show, designed just for students in Grades 3–6. Indoor Beginner Pickleball Lessons - Monday evenings March 2026 Learn this fun game which is reported as the fastest-growing game in the country. Pickleball combines the games of tennis and table tennis, on a badminton-sized court. It is easy to learn and fun to play! The three week clinic will teach you to play the game, with an emphasis on fun and hands-on play, rather than lecture. Participants are expected to wear casual clothing suitable for indoor exercise, and court shoes are recommended (flat-soled sneakers with good lateral support). Equipment will be provided if you aren’t able to bring a paddle. Dave Brower is a certified instructor with the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association, and has competed in many tournaments, winning multiple Gold medals in both the MA and RI Senior Games.

Indoor Beginner Pickleball Lessons - Monday evenings March 2026 Learn this fun game which is reported as the fastest-growing game in the country. Pickleball combines the games of tennis and table tennis, on a badminton-sized court. It is easy to learn and fun to play! The three week clinic will teach you to play the game, with an emphasis on fun and hands-on play, rather than lecture. Participants are expected to wear casual clothing suitable for indoor exercise, and court shoes are recommended (flat-soled sneakers with good lateral support). Equipment will be provided if you aren’t able to bring a paddle. Dave Brower is a certified instructor with the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association, and has competed in many tournaments, winning multiple Gold medals in both the MA and RI Senior Games.

Game Masters - March/April 2026 Students will team up to design a unique game for the class to play. They can either add their own twist to games they’ve played before or come up with an entirely new idea. With the help from instructors students will explain their game to the group and teach them how to play. It’s a fun way to get creative and work together! WHO: Grades 3rd-6th

Medium Mania - Medium Mania Welcome to Medium Mania, the afterschool program where creativity knows no bounds! Each week, students will dive into a different craft project using a new medium, from paper and paint to clay alternatives, fiber crafts, and more. Students will explore new techniques, experiment with colors, textures, and patterns, and create projects they can finish and take home the same day. In Medium Mania, students will:
Try a variety of art and craft materials
Learn new creative techniques each week
Develop fine motor skills and confidence in their abilities
Complete a finished, take-home project every session
Have fun in a safe, supportive, hands-on environment
