Bring your own mat and blocks if possible. Masks are required.

Yoga is self-care. As you practice, your bones, muscles, heart, brain, nervous system - and more - will benefit! Explore floor and standing yoga poses, breath work and positive visualization techniques that will strengthen & soothe your body and mind. Side effects may include feelings of peace, serenity, and calm!
Gillian Hurrie has been a Sandwich resident for 19 years and welcomes you to the mat. She has taught for 12 years and practiced yoga as a lifestyle for 30 years. She holds a 200 hour certification through National Yoga Alliance. In addition, she has taken extensive trainings and also holds a certificate from Bodhi and Mind Yoga’s cancer-informed teacher training, which provides free yoga to women in any stage of breast cancer treatment and recovery.
Gillian is know for her calming presence, non-judgmental teaching style and compassion-centered philosophy. Gillian weaves thought-provoking ideas and meditations throughout her classes, applying ancient wisdom to our contemporary western world in a useful and understandable way. She loves yoga philosophy, alignment and anatomy, and watching students learn to listen to their bodies while practicing yoga. Students love that she knows how to modify for beginners while keeping more advanced students challenged.

The Sandwich Recreation Department is working closely with the Board of Health and following the latest COVID information released by the State of Massachusetts. We will continue to monitor the town of Sandwich case numbers while implementing all guidelines put forth by the state- Therefore, we reserve the right to discontinue any program at any time should the town or state feel it is in the best interest of the health and safety of our community.
